2009 Spokane River Canoe Classic

The Spokane River Canoe Classic has evolved into a great family event on Father's Day weekend, with over 150 participants and spectators attending annually. For 2009, we will have a 6-mile Citizens course only due to the construction on Barker Road, so come on out and enjoy a casual day on the river! We look forward to having the Marathon course back for 2010.

The start of the race is quite spectacular, with over 100 colorful boats taking off together. Most people make a day of it - bringing a picnic lunch to enjoy with family and friends. At the end of the day, winners in each division are awarded, and all participants are entered into a drawing for prizes.

Participants can register by themselves or as a team of two. There are 3 categories: Men's, Women's, and Mixed (team), with awards for the top finishers in each category. Registration is only $20.00 per person ($25 per person on the day of the race), with a portion of the proceeds going to the Spokane Canoe and Kayak Club.

Directions: From I-90, take the exit for the outlet malls and head south. Take an immediate left on W Riverbend Ave. The 2nd right on Corbin Road brings you into the park. Look for the signs!
