Comments about Cascade Designs Inc DragonFly Stove:

Ditto Rian's review; my thoughts exactly. I don't use it that often anymore as I now have a simmerlite which I think simmers almost as well and is much more compact and lightweight.

Comments about Cascade Designs Inc DragonFly Stove:

I've had this stove for over 10 years. It is still around, virtually unchanged, for a reason. It is a solid versitle stove. It is stable, handles all fuel types, easy cleaning, easy enough to use and suitable for group cooking. It is the chef's stove for backpacking in my opinion. It simmers well and puts out the BTU's. It is noisy, and not particularly small or ultra-light. But that's not what it says it is either. It is a good reliable stove.

Comments about Cascade Designs Inc DragonFly Stove:

I have had this stove for years. Works great every time. It even broke at a welded spot(from use,not a manufacture flaw) and I still got years of cooking out of it. Ended up leaving it up at a ski cabin but am buying another. I think it is a little heavy and a little bulky but I pack it every where I go, mostly in the Tetons, year round.

Comments about Cascade Designs Inc DragonFly Stove:

No drawbacks to this stove. Maybe only if noise bothers you. When you open it all the way, it sounds like a jet engine. I thought something was going to explode the first time I heard it that loud. The only better stove for colder camping might be the XGK EX, although I had no problems igniting my stove below freezing or in the wind. It didn't use as much white gas as I expected either. Just make sure you open the valve slowly to start the stove, or you'll get gas all over the place. After that, no problems to worry about.
