Comments about Montrail Hardrock Trail Runner - Men's:

This is my second pair of Hardrocks. I love them. Very durable and capable of handling the abuse I give them on the trail. These are my go to shoes when backpacking, trail running or just hiking.

Service & Delivery comments:

Mountain Gear actually shipped me the wrong shoes the first time but after I contacted them, the correct pair were here in a matter of days. They arrived even before they received the ones I had returned. Excellent customer service.

Comments about Montrail Hardrock Trail Runner - Men's:

The Hardrocks are a great long distant alternative to the traditional leather boot. The pronation correction is nice for those who need it and there is no real break in period even though they are fairly stiff. My only gripe would be that after one month the tread was in tough shape. These shoes are nice and sticky for bouldering or scrambles, but course textures like Southwest granite or other mean surfaces like canyon walls take a tole on the tread. Rather large chunks were taken out of the rubber after a 9 hour scramble up a granite mountain. I expect to get a year of solid use out of these shoes, but I can get the same with a pair of New Balance All-Terrains For [$] less [$]

Comments about Montrail Hardrock Trail Runner - Men's:

For their weight, the Hardrocks are the most supportive, protective, durable and comfortable shoes for thru hiking.I wore them on the PCT in 04 andthey were awesome in every way.I used green superfeet with them and had almost zero blisters and no other foot problems. It took 3 pairs to go the distance ,which is better durability than most other shoes. The mesh helps them dry very quickly from all the water crossings.

Comments about Montrail Hardrock Trail Runner - Men's:

I used two pairs of these shoes during a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. Each pair got over 800 miles, including the rocky Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Maine sections.

Stable platform for a lowtop shoe.

Very breatheable for hot and dry weather, and they don't hold water in wet weather.

Lots of hikers used these shoes and swore by them if that isn't enough of an endorsement!
