I bought this coffee press mainly for loose leaf tea. Overall, I'm satisfied with it. My only complaint is that the lids don't fit very securely. They leak around the edge if you tip it.

There are french presses and there are travel mugs but I do not know of any other combination of both. I use this item primarily to brew Yerbaa-Mate', which is a tea-like beverage very popular in South America. I do not use it for hiking or recreational activities, just at home and the office. I own two of them and have just purchased two more as gifts. They do tend to get some staining inside on the bottom, which is hard to clean. The handles also can get a little loose over time, but in general I find them to be very high quality items. The outer finish is beautiful, the plastic parts and mesh screens are very durable. I have been using mine for two years now with no complaints. I love mine and would by another one in a hearbeat. It's worth the price for sure.

I love this mug. It seriously keeps a cup of coffee hot and fresh for almost four hours. I'm a student and I use it whenever I'm in need of some liquid energy.

It's a metal item, so it's heavy, but the other coffee presses are either too small or too fragile. This one gives two solid cups of joe in the morning, and is an easy clean, big enough to get my hand inside, but doesn't take up a bunch of space in the pack.

I bought the press to take traveling out of the country and on the Inca Trail. I was truly surprised at how heavy it is. I haven’t used the press as yet so I can’t comment on its coffee making abilities. – But the weight won't work for …I guess I keep looking.

At scout camp, I no longer have to wait for a burner, for a perculator. Some hot water, 5 minutes to steep, and I'm good! Great tasting coffee. Goof proof!
