My climbing gym forbids loose chalk; it allows chalk balls. Chalk balls are much neater than loose chalk. When the ball is brand new, gettign he chalk out is difficult. After a few used, however, it works fine.

I am never going back to buying a block of chalk! This is so much better and easier to use. I like the fact that I can refill the ball. The chalk seems to last a lot longer than the block chalk of old. Maybe because not so much gets wasted...

I really like the fact that this chalk ball is refillable. It is much cheaper to buy a large bag of loose chalk and refill than buy a new chalk ball each time. I have a smaller chalk bag so I emptied some of the chalk from the ball and tightened the drawstring to make it fit better and it's like creating your own custom size. This chalk ball keeps the chalk from going everywhere which was a huge problem for me with loose chalk.

It's a chalk ball, so there really isn't much to it. It's full of chalk and if you rub it you get chalk from it. Not rocket science here. The one thing that sets it apart from any other chalk ball is that it is refillable. It has an elastic draw string around one end that has a plastic cinch on the string to keep it closed. Seems to work fine and no complaints yet.

Best for the bucks

This is the first chalk that I have bought (I am a newer climber). My hands don't sweat very much, so this chalk has been perfect for me. If your hands sweat a great deal, you make have to work with the chalk a little bit or reapply more often than you would with loose chalk. I love this chalk because it won't fall out in a dusty cloud if your chalk bag is open. This chalk is ideal especially for gyms that do not allow loose chalk.
