Comments about Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's:

Put This shell on, cinch down the hood, have your friend dump a 5 gallon bucket of ice water on your head. Guaranteed dry. Bottom line: Arc Teryx is the best. Don't buy one because you are rich, dumb, and want a fancy rain coat. Buy one because you are poor, live in your truck, but really live in the backcountry.

Comments about Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's:

This jacket is light and strong. I bought it several years ago and have worn it climbing on rock, thrashing around in chimneys and on winter ice and mixed ground. It will get minor bruises under very hard use but not rips or junctures. In my opinion. I like it.

Comments about Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's:

I have been an avid hiker, climber and skier/snowboarder for going on 15 years and I can say that this jacket is truly the "do-it-all, all-rounder". Whether at the top of Forbidden Peak in the Washington backcountry or carving first tracks through beautiful Wasatch powder, this jacket gets it done.

With the exceptional weather protection and breathability of its Gore-Tex Pro fabric, this jacket is a far cry from your grandfather's plastic slicker, making the soggiest days seem dry without compromising your internal temperature. This jacket works just as well as a wind shell on a blustery Mt. Washington winter summit as it does a rain shell in the height of the Cascades' rainy season.

Reinforced fabric in high-wear areas, such as the shoulders, elbows and seat, leaves you feeling free to nick a branch in the glades or take a mid-ascent break on a rocky ledge, confident that you will hardy put a dent in this bomber shell.

Additional features such as a roomy, helmet-compatable hood, parka-style cut and multiple drawstring cinches to provide a custom fit, all add to the appeal of this stylish jacket.

My one complaint would be in the zipper construction. Although bomber and weatherproof, the small teeth and waterproof coating make it difficult to manipulate the zippers with bare hands, let alone when your paws are wrapped up in a pair of cumbersome, down mitts.

On the whole, this is a jacket that will be a welcome friend out on the mountain, hitting the slopes, or belaying a face for years to come.

Comments about Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's:

This product has exceeded expectations. I have used this jacket in many different situations and it has been outstanding. This jacket kept me warm and dry during a day-long sleet/snow on the slopes in Breckenridge, CO. Also, it has kept me dry throughout multiple rain showers.

Highly recommended.

Comments about Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's:

As with all ARCTERYX products it is very well build, however it did not work for me. At 6'2" with 36" inch arms this jacket was really short in a large and an extra large, just check the size chart before buying, ARCTERYX has a ton of jackets similar with a longer cut and longer arms.

Comments about Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's:

I have several Arcteryx jackets, the Beta Ar being one of them! Living in New England and skiing in Vermont our weather can go from 25 degs. and sunny, to 40 degs with rain one day to than -15 degs. wind chill and snow the following day. The Arcteryx Beta Ar with proper layering........."Bada Bing Bada Boom!" - NO PROBLEM!! Also I am 6ft 2in tall with long arms and sometimes have a hard time with jacket sleeve lengths....The fit is perfect! Great summer rain jacket as well.

Comments about Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's:

This shell is great. It has been all over the world with me and has never let me down. I have been the heck out it, go so far as to spell car battery water on it and melting the jacket a bit. Even after that its still water tight.

Comments about Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's:

I've worn this shell while steelheading,waist-deep in nearly freezing water in ground blizzard conditions catching and releasing one big chromer after another in complete and total comfort! This shell is tough,stands-up time after time in the most miserable Great Lakes steelheading weather and seems to ask for more!

Comments about Arcteryx Beta AR Jacket - Men's:

rock solid jacket with minimal features. Solid performer in cloudburst, steady heavy and light rain conditions.

I've used this jacket on multi-week trips in the Brooks Range, the Alaska range and the Chugach. If I need to stay dry this is the jacket I use. I paid alot of money for it and I am happy I have it.
