Bought a medium, they generally fit fine. Cuffs are not adjustable, and were on the big side. The sleeves would not stay up at my wrists. Also, the neck is not adjustable and is a bit on the large size when fully zipped. I went to a store to try on a small, and had the same fit issues. Returned it. It looks and feels like a great jacket, just did not fit me well.

This is a great jacket - has the fit feel and quality that has motivated me to purchase several Arcteryx tops.

But I was very disappointed to find no velcro clousures at the cuff - surprised as well - it's got one of those odd greek letter names - so it's technical... so, I finally figured that it must be highly optimized for rock climbing - climbers probably don't like tight closure at the wrists - but will like the little bit extra length sleeves.

I wanted to use this jacket for cold to cool weather hiking - probably just about right for 35 to 45 degree F weather... but with those open cuffs there will be too much wind up the sleeves...

probably will return this - but I think cool weather rock climbers will love it

great color too: Merlot nice, quiet shade of red.

This jacket is perfect for any outdoor activity that one can possibly come across, i used it in the catskills during the summer, then in oregon in the fall and in Iowa/Minn. in the winter, its great for layering and even as a stand alone top.

This is a really great softshell, and would be perfect but for 3 minor design flaws. The length is just a bit short- another inch would be just right. it fits well under a harness but I feel that it rides up just a bit. The collar is also a bit short, and when it is windy I would really like a feature like the MH Alchemy has, where there is a soft top on the collar that can be cinched close. I would also like an outside small breast or sleeve pocket to hold my reading glasses or other small objects that can get lost in the larger pockets. The fabric on this is better than the Alchemy's, however and is stretchier and is apparently completely impervious to abrasion- no matter how much you get this up against rock it never seems to snag or tear. It also sheds snow or light rain better than would seem possible for a soft shell, and fits comfortably under my Arcteryx Goretex shell when the weather is really bad. The stitching is indestructible. Highly recommended.

Everyone knows that you don't always get what you pay for..but in the case of Arcteryx products you do. The first time you see the Gamma AR in person, you can tell that it is a cut above the rest. Carefully inspecting the stitching in the seams and the detail work will make you a believer. The Gamma AR makes a great hiking/climbing jacket..the Polartec Powershield is equal parts wind/water resistant, stretchy, breatheable and durable. This is not a casual jacket (but you could use it as one) so the pockets are high to clear a climbing harness or pack strap and the opening is large to accomodate water bottles, gloves, beanies or anything else you can fit inside. The Powershield material is lined with a very light fleece which doesn't provide much insulation..but makes the jacket comfortable with just a short sleeve t-shirt underneath. Overall, just a great quality softshell that not only looks good...but has performance to match.

The jackets amazing. Misty weather wipes right off the DWR. Windproof all the way. The pockets are up high, so you can wear it with your harness and still keep your hands warm. You have full range of motion in the jacket, even when zipped up tight

This a great multiple use piece. Can easily be worn daily and without hesitation will take some serious abuse in all conditions. I have used this jacket hiking and climbing and it performs excellent for fast moving outdoor activities. The fit runs a bit small but all Arcteryx products tend to be sized athletically. The construction is top quality, but heck it's an Arcteryx and I have never had issues with any of their offerings. Best part is that this jacket looks like new after years of use/abuse and just keeps comming back for more. Don't hesitate in getting one if you are on the hunt for a top notch soft shell that does it all. A+ all the way.

Great looking jacket, warm and un-constricting. I have to force myself to not wear it on a daily basis, especially since it is warmer than I need! Use it over a meduim base-layer and this will do you fine unless you're in a sustained down pour.
