I wanted to try these on before I perchased them online. So I went on a little adventure to the store and I asked if I could try them on. "Good sir, Do you happen to have a fitting room?" I asked the clerk.
"It's more of a fitting dungeon or black hole of nothingness, but yes," said the clerk. I laughed nervously trying to make him think that his joke got to me when actually I just wanted to feel the nice arcteryx fabric on the skin of my legs. Sensing my lack of animation for the man's joke he continued. "I'll go ahead and turn the web-cam off," he said. Now that was funny so I laughed.

I followed him with his lantern in tow into the darkness of the fitting dungeon. It was actually a short 5 pace walk and I was lying about the lantern. He pulled the string to activate the light bulb and left me to my fitting business. Business in deed it was for I have never had such an experience of pulling on a pair of more comfortable pants. There really is no way to properly describe it. The only thing I can say is that it felt as if my skin just became thicker and 78% more comfortable and sexy at the same time. I gasped from the experience just as one that has seen something beautiful but can't fully comprehend what has just been seen like a ghost in the night or a perfectly smelling sandwich. The clerk had given me a few other flavors of pants to try on but there really was no need. I left the dungeon with a large smile and put the pants on the table while giving him the "I'm ready to purchase look". "I'll take the arcteryx pants," I said feeling quite satisfied with my desicion.

A light came on in the man's eyes and he said, "This is a fine pant. Nothing moves with your body like an arcteryx." My satisfaction was complete as I purchased the pants and thought about all the wonderful adventures that I would have in them. To this day they have yet to disappoint and be taken off my body.

These pants have absolutely everything except for cold weather and rain protection. They are comfortable, very light weight, good-fitting, and good-looking. They are easy to care for, they resist stains, and they dry very quickly, especially in light of the fact that they are 6% spandex. Excellent pocket configuration, and the pockets are secure without zippers, a very nice touch. The quality is very high, as you would expect from the brand and the price. Be aware that the coffee bean color is not nearly as brown as the photo would lead you to believe. Too bad these don't come in black.

These are my favorite pants for hiking or any other outdoor activity.

The fit is nice and slim. I'm 6 feet tall at 165 pounds and the 32 waist fits me perfectly. The length is also spot on.

My favorite thing about these pants is the cargo pocket. The pockets aren't large and obvious so it gives the pants a nice slim look. The pockets are placed at the perfect position so they are easy to get into even when you're sitting. For example, I can put my cell phone in my pocket and it's easy to get to even when I'm driving. I hate how you have to wiggle around to reach into the front pockets of most pants when I'm driving and these pockets are the answer to that! No more worm dance while I'm driving just to get to my phone.

The construction is very nice. The clasps for the waist is perfect, not too hard to take off not too hard to clasp.

The ramparts are good for cool weather and warm weather activities. The materials Arc'teryx used is nice and quiet. Not as much "swooshing" as other pants.

The only way these pants could be improved is to make a waterproof version. They repel light rain but eventually they will get soaked. Fortunately they dry fairly fast.

So far these are my favorite pants from Arc'teryx.
