Comments about Arcteryx Sidewinder SV Jacket - Men's:

This is the gold standard jacket for big mountain backcountry. Arcteryx quality, alpinist fit and minimal pockets, excellent breathability, GORE bombproofness with welded seams. Only drawback is the price.

Comments about Arcteryx Sidewinder SV Jacket - Men's:

The Sidewinder rules! Perfect fit. Perfectly constructed jacket for moving in any environment. Light as a feather. Pockets where you need them. Classic water proof, freeze proof zipper that goes up towards your neck and then to the side to eliminate any chin bumping annoyances that other competitors jackets may give. Cool arm pocket with window and Recco system. Everything is made for full action and reliability in intense situations, yet perfect for chilling on the town in full style. The rest of the world needs to catch up with Arcteryx!

A good shell...

Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Gear Usage:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Arcteryx Sidewinder SV Jacket - Men's:

I bought the large, which fit fine as a rain jacket. If you intend to ski in it I would suggest a size larger to accomodate suitable base layers. This would be especially true if it is really cold out. The sidewinder asymetrical zipper from the neck up may reduce zipper burn on the chin when zipped up. It acts like a jib sail when it's down, slapping you in the face.
Rather expensive and some of the newer garments are not made in Canada anymore...guess where...China...surprise!

Comments about Arcteryx Sidewinder SV Jacket - Men's:

I love this jacket. I normally wear a XXL, but I had to size down to XL. This is now my go to jacket for backcountry as the shell is very tough and does not have extra zippers and loops like my TNF.

Comments about Arcteryx Sidewinder SV Jacket - Men's:

I've owned this jacket for a few years and it still looks like new. Arcteryx products may be on the higher end of the price spectrum, but if you consider buying a shell a long term investment it's certainly worth the price. The waterproof zipper technology common on many jackets today was first used by Arcteryx and the seals on my jacket are still tight. It's hard to do better when you're shopping for a tech-shell, but very easy to do worse than Arcteryx

typical Arc'teryx fit and comfort - do not even know you are wearing it... Zipper to the side is great for my beard:)
