Comments about Arcteryx X350a Harness:

Really liked the idea and am willing to pay for it. Not enogh range of size for me. Med too big, but still to small to put on easily. Small - no way. Also wear points not very beafy, another trade-off I was willing to make. Recommended only if it fits.

Comments about Arcteryx X350a Harness:

Amazingly light and compact... a full featured harness, super comfortable, light enough to go on the longest alpine/mountaineering climbs. Packs small. Sizing is weird... at 6'2" 175# medium was too small (to wear over winter clothing) and with the large I went with, I notice the gear loops are annoyingly far forward. When leading, your gear is in your lap, not at your sides. The haul loop is small and cheesy. Overall, the novel construction makes this a pretty nice rig, though

Comments about Arcteryx X350a Harness:

I've had this harness for well over a year and a half and can't see going back. Whether on multi-pitch alpine trad routes or for some quick sport routes this harness doesn't even feel like it's there.

Comments about Arcteryx X350a Harness:

While this is the most expensive harness on the market, (I think), its well worth the money. Compared to every other harness I've tried on (at REI) none come remotely close to this harnesses comfort. It packs small is well made, etc. However I do have some complaints, The main waist/hip buckle is not double backing and tends to loosen up when worn over slick clothing as the harness slides. I think Im just wearing the harness wrong, idk.

Mountain Gear Response: PLEASE NOTE: the main buckle on the Arcteryx X350a Harness DOES feature a double-back self-locking design.

Comments about Arcteryx X350a Harness:

The X350a is a great all around harness for the diversified climber. It is super comfy in the leg and back from the funky warp build.

It is a little scary at first because it is so thin, kind of like the first time you have from a mummut skinny sling and only kinda believe its full strength.

The harness hugs the top of the hip bone well and diggs in much less then my older Petzl Calidris harness when loaded up with gear.

The gear loops are HUGE which is nice and you can move the plastic covering so the gear falls forward toward the front or back away from you. The haul loop on the back is NOT full strength which was disappointing as some other reviews I read said that it was, But it fits one biner and can be used to hold your "rescue biner" or to tail a rope. The position of the gear loops is a little wierd, they are fairly far forward. I am still getting used to this but so far I find that I just rack more gear on the rear loops since they are easier to use then on most harnesses as they are farther forward and just don't load the front loops as much. I think it will be fine and many people might not care

The third ice racker slot is very weird located very far up in front of the gear loops where it is basically useless. It also would have been nice if the ice rackers were made of something stretchy that laid smooth instead of the stiffer material that sticks out for comfort when wearing a pack with a hipbelt that hits the harness.

Also I found the legloops a touch small. I am 6'1 and 155 so I am pretty thin. My thighs felt tight in the leg loops when they were tightened to the point that they were centered. I had to loosen them a bit which made them comfortable but then the thickest part of the legloop was not perfectly aligned with the back of my thigh.

Overall the harness is great but there are a few litle things that Arc'teryx can tweak on version 2. I would definitely reccomend it for someone looking for a lightweight and super comfy harness for all purpose sport/trad/ice.

Service & Delivery comments:

Mountaingear was awesome, fast shipping, and they shipped the other half of my order for free when the harness was back ordered. Awesome!
