Comments about Acopa JB Rock Shoe:

One may consider these shoes cheating if they have never climbed in them; they are unbelievable! Shoes are tight but not synthetic, thus stretch helped me out on uncomfortability factor. So think about that when purchasing- a little tight at first is probably a good idea. Additionally, i stoutly disagree with they're edging prowess from the previous review-I'm mainly a gunks and 'daks climber. This is where i feel like I'm cheating, as i stand uncramped on the edge of a nickel and dime while fiddling in RP's for minutes on end. They outperformed any other shoe i have ever worn on a big trip out west at every destination, including but not limited to: Castleton Tower:N.Face and a bunch more around castle valley. Black Canyon: Journey Home & Scenic Cruise, Gunks-all over!

Comments about Acopa JB Rock Shoe:

I bought the JBs because I wanted a good crack boot and general purpose offwidth shoe. I climb at Vedauwoo almost exclusively, so I thought they would see a lot of use.

They saw more use than I could've easily expected. My JBs have a permanent home in my pack now.

They are stiff, have good ankle support and protection, and are very comfortable, all critical features for a crack boot.

I sized mine to fit with socks (more than 2 sizes larger than my street shoes, these things run SMALL), which was a mistake. When I buy my next pair, they will be fit snug without socks. Partially owing to the socks, and partially due to the shoe itself, these things do not climb faces very well. They also dislike cracks thinner than about #1.5 friends.

If you need a more all-around hightop, check out the La Sportiva TCs. The JBs, however, are a steep offwidth boot without equal.
