Run, do not buy these snowshoes. They will cover your backside in snow the likes of which cannot be described or corrected. Search for other comments elsewhere that reinforce this design flaw. Purchased by long-time snowshoer as a gift that has become a source of constant irritation.

Bought these as a present from Mtn Gear last year for my female trail partner. Turned into a nightmare. They cover the wearer in snow. No matter the rain pants, gaitors or special jackets worn to protect from this, the user's back will be covered with snow in moments. This happens regardless of snow cover. There is no preventive. [...] These shoes have a serious design flaw. I would have addressed Atlas if they allowed buyer feedback on their website. This is my third pair of Atlas shoes and I was quite a fan. I'd like to return these to Mtn Gear for trade on a present that can actually be worn without inflicting a snow covered backside. Not good at all.

These snowshoes were purchased for my 18 year old daughter. She has been snowshoeing since she was a small child, and she said that the Elecktra model has the easiest to use straps for the bindings.

The frame seems pretty rugged, and the decking material is sturdy and attached with large rivets that should hold up for many seasons of hard use. We snowshoe on rolling terrain with some steep wooded slopes. So far, these have been quick to get on or get off, and give good traction on icy and packed snow cover.

These snowshoes were a steal at almost 50% off on a One Day Special Sale. But, even at full price, these snowshoes are well worth the money invested. The freedom to roam the woods in winter while getting a good work-out is priceless!
