WI5 in these things is not their intended use, but they'll do it if you make them. The fit on them is great and the adjustments are easy. I love the collapsable design; these take up so little space as compared to my Rambos! They do great in hard snow and seem quite durable. Crampons in stainless! I can't believe nobody had caught on before, but rust on all your gear isn't cool, and the extra 1oz or whatever for stainless is definitely worth it as you don't always have the time to get your gear wiped off before you have to throw it back in your bag and run.

I haven't quite put these through the ringer yet, but I have used them on varying snow and ice conditions throughout the Northeast. So far, they have been extremely stable regardless of the incline or surface. I have been forced to use them on patches of rock a few times and the points seem to hold up fine.

As far as front pointing, they seem to do a good job on anything you can get some penetration to let the auxiliary points get some grip. On harder ice, however, they don't hold quite as well as I would like.
