This is my third pair of adjustable probe poles. Having mutilated, spindled or otherwise mishandled the previous two pair, I was happy to find this pole still on the market. BD has fixed several of my previous issues with this pole. First, the Wrist straps are easily adjusted on this model. Second, the flicklock arms can be adjusted with a thick mitten on, making it easier to use in the cold. The only issue I have is the difficulty taking off the baskets so I can use the pole as an anchor in camp for my tent.

Awesome Poles

Awesome performance. Extremely lightweight. Durable, at least on the 3 trips I've brought them on. No slippage, and they appear to be strong. If I really put pressure on them, I can see them bend just slightly, but not worried about it. Legitimate trade off.

I do wish the top section was longer so the poles could fold up shorter.

These poles are everything I need in an adjustable ski pole. They have a very light swing weight and are durable and comfortable. I haven't had any durability issues with mine (although I lost one -- ouch), but replacement lower shafts are available in case you abuse them.

I use them in the backcountry and in the resort. The only time I don't use them is on the rare occasion that I backcountry snowboard, where I like to use a three section pole that collapses shorter (but isn't as stiff and supportive).

At first I realized they were a little short for me, but I put them about an inch above the STOP line and they seem to be fine. I just wish the site told me which size was best for my height. Otherwise, these poles are great! Super light and my friends were drooling over how nice they are. Just used them on a backcountry skiing trip near Loveland in CO and at Arapahoe.
