Hi I'm from Europe and we use metric system
as far as I know 1 In is 2.54 cm

anyway in the description its state the 100L (metric) is 62 In long, but just below just 33 in. what I'm doing wrong?

4 sizes to choose from: the 100-liter bag is a
total of 62 inches long and is the maximum legal check-in bag size allowed by most airlines

Specifications:
Dimensions: 14 x 33 x 14 in (100 L)

Mountain Gear Response: The 100L duffel is 33 inches long, 14 inches wide, and 14 inches tall. Due to the shape of the duffel, the overall volume is 100 liters. Please contact customer service with any further questions.

Comments about Black Diamond Huey Duffel Bag:

I travel 200 days out of the year, and my gear bag always has 80-95 lbs of gear in it. I fill this bad boy up and strap it to my back. Has lasted me longer than a year with no wear and tear, despite all the times I have dragged it down a sidewalk. I have had no problems with the velcro closure or the zipper. Carrying on your back for long distances is too cumbersome, definitely not for backpacking. But to get it from here to there the backpack straps are a god send. The end handles are great for bag drags.

Service & Delivery comments:

Prompt, even all the way out here in Hawaii.

Comments about Black Diamond Huey Duffel Bag:

I bought the large bag because it was long enough to swallow my backpack, ice axe, trekking poles, and plastic boots in one load. The bag is enormous and made of bomber material. It's incredibly easy to load. I have two complaints with the bag. The first is that the bag cannot be locked. There are two parrallel sipper tracks in the top of the bag that unzip to give you great access, but the top of the flap secures with velcro instead of a zipper. The means that even if you lock the bag, anyone can snake a hand under the velcro and rummage around inside the bag. My other complaint is that the shoulder straps are terrible. I had my bag loaded with about 60 pounds of gear on a recent trip and with the shoulder straps on the bag about crippled me. The straps are good for about 15 minutes, but if you have a longer hike rent a cart.

I'll keep using this for domestic travel because you can't lock bags anyway, but I'll consider something else for international trips. Friends swear by the MH duffels.

Comments about Black Diamond Huey Duffel Bag:

Weekends away are our usual mode. The Huey works great. Toss your camping junk in it and toss it in the back of the truck. It also works great for hauling the trad pack across the US on a plane.

Robust but not lockable
By RoyVerified Buyer from CA on 7/13/2007
Pros:
Extremely sturdy, Very water resistant
Cons:
No Place to Hide Straps, Not completely lockable
Best Uses:
Car Camping, Third world adventures
Describe Yourself:
Avid Adventurer, Climber
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Black Diamond Huey Duffel Bag:

This bag looks more robust than either the North Face series or the Gregory Alpaca. The only real downside is that the top opens with two zips (one on each side of a D flap) and a velcro closure. This leaves about a 6" length secured only by velcro; enough to get a hand inside and raid small gear or clothing.

This would make an ideal trekking bag and it's certainly robust enough to take abuse on the back of a yak. The lack of security is a bit of a risk though. I will use mine for this purpose.

It's also a great bag for carting ice and rock climbing gear. Easily strong enough to resist ice tools.

Major Flaw in Design
By TylerVerified Reviewer from Camp Buckmaster, Iraq on 10/18/2006

Comments about Black Diamond Huey Duffel Bag:

I own lots and lots of Black Diamond gear, and I trusted that this bag would be bomber, like the rest of my BD stuff. I was wrong. This is a good bag, but it is like a good bicycle with only one wheel. I am returning both of the Hueys that I purchased. The top flap does not seal with a zipper - only Velcro. If you can live with that then you will probably be happy. In my opinion it is a major flaw in the design of this bag.

Practically bulletproof!
By CurtVerified Buyer from Los Angeles, California on 5/17/2006
Pros:
Tough

Comments about Black Diamond Huey Duffel Bag:

I bought this bag cuz I needed a tough, weather resistant bag for a weeklong mountain biking trip. Needed something I could toss in the support van that I wouldn't be worried about getting muddy, wet, or stowing funky gear in. If that's kinda what you need, this bag is an excellent choice. Extremely durable construction. If you need luggage to take a "nice" vacation with, this is too simple for that. It only has one compartment and stuff will move around, get wrinkled, etc. There are a couple of cool mesh zip pockets inside the top section, but otherwise it's just an open space. I like the workmanship and material a bit better than the North Face basecamp duffel, but it's not miles apart. I do think they should have a size between the 60L and the 100L, but I suppose if you pack smart, the 60L should handle most trips. The 100L is too big to carry easily when fully packed and the weight restrictions from the airlines (70lbs) now make dimensions irrelevant; and this larger size problematic. I give it four stars because its a very good bag...not perfect.
