Burly
By mEVerified Buyer from Burlington, VT on 6/16/2009
Pros:
Burly
Best Uses:
Feeling Burly, Toughening Palms, Training
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Heavy Sports Inc Heavy Grips:

I first bought the 100lbs model and it was easily harder than any of the plastic handeled versions sold at box stores everywhere. I then moved to the 250lbs model, this was a bigger step than I figured but its great.

One reviewer said the 50lb increment was too small and I can vouch that the 150lbs increment is probably to big. I would love to see a package containing 100lb, 200lb, and 300lb.

In closing these are burly.

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Heavy Sports Inc Heavy Grips:

Great product! Read some reviews from other places and was told to start light so i went with the 100lbs but it turns out that was way to easy so thinking about investing in the 150. Its nice to sit at my desk and have something to do and still gain forearm strength. I've noticed a difference in a few short weeks!

Comments about Heavy Sports Inc Heavy Grips:

Good product, does what it says on the box. Useful for developing grip strength between climbs - or just general grip training.

Nb - Had a problem with the glue on the 200, after about 10 or so workouts the silver grip came loose from the black spring - quick fix with superglue. Overall happy with the product

Got Grip
By LoadVerified Buyer from Pgh, Pa. on 3/14/2008
Pros:
Simple
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Heavy Sports Inc Heavy Grips:

I bought the 200# model to keep me occupied while driving and also to strengthen my grip for weightlifting. It isn't easy at all but does give a good pump to the forearms. The gripper is a hair big for me but I got used to it. The knurling is aggressive and if nothing else you'll toughen up your palms.

Comments about Heavy Sports Inc Heavy Grips:

I really like using these grippers. I've got the 150's and now the 200's. My only suggestion is to skip the 50lb. increments - as I don't really feel much difference between the 150's and the 200's. Anyway, I like these grippers a lot and they have increased my hand strength quite a bit.

Nice
By 0x90Verified Buyer from Kansas City, MO on 1/16/2007
Pros:
Rugged
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Heavy Sports Inc Heavy Grips:

I've liked these hand grips a lot. I bought the 150s, and I've been climbing more than 10 years. I could close them a couple of times when I first got them, but no non-climbers that I know could. Not trying to be arrogant here, just letting someone know that if you already climb, 150 is a good place to start. Else, I'd start with the 100s and work up. I'm going to the 200s soon enough, but really love these grippers. They are fun to do and I think really do build up the hand strength.

Very useful product
By Train Harder 712Verified Buyer from Jersey City, NJ on 1/20/2006
Pros:
Compact, Strong, Durable, Tough

Comments about Heavy Sports Inc Heavy Grips:

These special hang grips are quite difficult to find, so I'm very pleased to found them for sale.
Most of the time you find easy, standard, plastic-handle 30-50 pound grips in local sports stores that schooldchildren can use and not get much of a workout from. However, these are the heavy duty metal grips that WILL build your hand and grip strength, even if you already have the forearms of Popeye.
You can choose in 50-pound increments from an easy 100 pounds all the way to a bone crunching 300 pounds. Either way, unless you've got the strength of Bill Kazmaier (former World's Strongest Man) you will find these grips to give you the hard, intense, forearm-burning workout you've been looking for.
There are exercises you can do at the gym, as well, such as forearm curls with dumbells, but these grips help add variety to a complete forearm workout (which is always a plus so your muscles don't get used to doing the same exercises all the time, which stagnates muscle growth).
As mentioned, the design of these grips is heavy duty metal that are solidly built. Take them with you anywhere! Whether you're rock climbing or training your forearms as part of your full-body workout (i.e. in the gym), these grips will build you strong hands that you can proudly display with any handshake!
