I love the concept of this product - when technology can reduce pack weight and increase efficiency, I'm a happy girl. But I had a hard time telling if it was actually turned on or not. Had to tuck my water bottle into my jacket so I could see the UV light. Frankly, I wish I'd sprung for the Journey, which clearly indicates when water has been purified. Never fear, I'll probably give this to a friend and get the Journey!

expensive but works

this framouse is compac, does what it sayst and is reasonably idiot proof. I've used it in hotels and in the wild. the only non filtration device that comes close is the MSR miox. which may be bettr for larger quantities. if you add up your time, effort pumping water then this is a good buy.
