I used to be a guide and every day I worked i wore Montrail D7's and never had a problem. So when I tried on the Cirque Pro's I thought wow a comfortable laSportiva shoe for my wide foot looks durable, has a large rubber rand these things should be bomber. In six months I've had them on Red Rocks approaches 5.0-5.1 scrambling to approaches in Arches NP to Stone Mountain state park in NC. I've never climbed in these just approaches and daily wear but not much. At six months I have to say I returned them there was a hole between the rand and the leather on the left shoe on the outside of the foot by the ball where the shoe flexes and on the right shoe the sole was peeling away at the heel. I could understand this if the shoes were put through a big wall or climbed in regularly but just hiking and desert approaches, come on. A pair of New Balance would last longer. If you do decide to buy these shoes I would suggest climbing at Wall Street or the Bridge area.

I bought this shoe for climbing and backpacking. It is great on the rocks, the sole is super sticky, and i love the way it locks your foot in. But on wet leaves, snow, or mud, it is very slick. I have stable ankles so I'm fine, but someone with weaker ankles might have an issue. The uppers stand up great, and the sole durability is so-so - it looks a little worn down after 2 months, but still grips great.
