I've had La Sportiva shoes before and thought they were excellent. Out of the box, these shoes felt very comfortable. However, within a couple of months the stitching on the outside upper of the left shoe came apart. The shoe lace holes on the upper left shoe also ripped. Very disappointing.

I think they are the perfect shoe. Many novices equate a shoe being uncomfortable with being good. The mythos are the standard counter argument. the lacing system and unlined construction mean that they will mold themselves to your feet. The mythos are what climbing would be like if you could dip your feet in rubber. Loosen the laces for messing around on easy stuff then cinch down the toe laces for precision on harder stuff. from 5.5->5.12b I have never felt as though the shoe was limiting my climbing either for being uncomfortable on long trad climbs or limiting my technique on hard bouldering problems.

How many shoes will allow you to climb hard routes all day and yet when you take them off your feet are not in pain?

the one possible con is that they are a very soft shoe (part of why they are so comfortable and sensitive) and as a result they require you to develop strong feet and toes rather than rely on the shoes to squeeze your feet into rigid blocks. This will be a bonus to novices but climbers used to slingshot rands and stiff soles may notice this.

This is my third pair in six years. they are a great all day shoe. Highly recommend them. They do stretch so get at least a full size smaller if not a size and a half.

I said I'd send in another review after I climbed in the Mythos a little more.
These shoes are great! The Xsgrip rubber is tough and sticky. I've climbed some sport and trad in these and I love them. For a rock shoe they are comfortable, even when sized down fairly tight. So far thay have worked great for me. I've had them on 5.10+ to 5.11- and the limiting factor has been my climbing, not the shoe.

I've been climbing with Mythos for about 5 years now. Fits me great, and seems to work well in all the styles of rock climbing I do. After suffering with all the more aggressive styles, I found that I climb better, even bouldering, with a shoe that keeps my foot flat and comfortable. While comfortable enough to wear for hours, the Mythos has great sensitivity and stickiness.

This is a really comfortable shoe that has performed great for me in the short time i've had it. I love the fit, snug but not painfull even though I had to but a couple of sizes down. I usually wear a 43 to 43.5 and I bought these in a 41. I'm sure they will stretch quite a bit since they're unlined leather.
This shoe edges good, smears well, the rubber is sticky and is comfy.
I'd recomend it to anyone looking for a comfortable shoe that still performs well.
