Comments about Cascade Designs Inc HyperFlow Microfilter:

In August and September of 2008 this was the filter three very experienced backpackers relied on in the High Sierra. Although there was never any visible contamination in the parts of the streams and high altitude lakes we were taking our water from, this filter worked as advertised for only the first day, after which its performance deteriorated so rapidly that, by the 3rd evening (despite multiple meticulous cleanings and back-flushings) we were concerned we would have to cut our trip short since it was taking about 12 minutes per liter and getting progressively harder to pump. On the plus side, it's so small that keeping it (from freezing) in your sleeping bag overnight is a non-issue.

Comments about Cascade Designs Inc HyperFlow Microfilter:

I bought this filter because I was tiered of tablets and my dad’s ancient filter. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend the extra cash to get this filter because it is fast and efficient. After going on a weeklong canoe trip my buddy and I, were able to pump water without any problems, and we didn’t have to clean the filter the whole week.

This filter is easy; pumps water as fast as you can pump your hand.

I found that it is easier to filter if you attach a rock to the pre-filter with its Velcro straps so that you can constantly suck up water.

Q: Why would I ever carry water again?
A: Only if I won't be near a lake, pond or stream during the day.
And why wait for chemicals????
This filter works FAST! Its size and weight make it very convenient to carry and use.
With filtered water being this easy I will never carry water again if I can filter it and drink it COLD from the stream!!

Fast and Faster
By AsamovVerified Reviewer from WA on 8/25/2008

Comments about Cascade Designs Inc HyperFlow Microfilter:

My god I love this pump. It blazed through six liters and I only got one mosquito bite! That's fast in MT. We have used it several times and we love the lightweight and compactness. I hooked it straight into my Camelback w/o taking off my pack. Sweet!
