I have used this vest (older version) for three seasons climbing and mountaineering in Austria and Switzerland and has accompanied me on almost every outing.
I like how the outer fabric functions well as a windbreaker and the inner fabric "insulates" just enough to not cool off when taking a break.
I have the version where the front, sides and shoulders have a inner fabric, that means the back has only the windbreaker shell. This is great because the backpack protects me anyway and doesn't bunch up.
I wish the vest were about 2-3 inches longer so that it stays put when tucked into my harness.

not to be worn against sharp rock when thrutchy moves are required; i had a suunto in the chest pocket on day one while struggling on a variable off width come tight chimneying very old school trad dolerite route and wore a few holes in it. however great layer for new zealand mountaineering trips. i'll be getting the same in a jacket or shirt, or both!!!
