Another one season wonder

Just like the Precip jacket cut and sizing are great, and fit is good during active use. The pants perform well while they lasts, but it just does not hold up to more than casual use.
Just like the Precip jacket the coating wears off after just moderate use. Especially around the waistband.While the price is not excessive, and the pants would probably serve fine for moderate and casual use it just does not cut it for someone who is actually out in the hills on a regular basis. This pants only lasted one season for me. As someone who is concerned about the environment, the thought of tossing a pair of these once a year is just to much. I will be looking for much better durability in a replacement.

Good pants, overall - and I see them on a lot of my friends. Very packable, waterproof, easy to zip on without removing boots/crampons and pretty abrasion-resistant. Only gripe is that the waist isn't more adjustable - I'm 6', 200#, and a size L fits my legs well but is large in the waist.

I have learned what gear is essential in a backcountry deluge. The Marmot PreCip Pant is a bulwark against wet pants, wet socks, water in your boots, even a cold night at high altitude. This is a product that pays for itself!

These are great rainpants. I used them on a 8 day whitewater trip through the Grand Canyon and they kept me warm and dry. The water temps in the Colorado River are between 48-60 degrees and chill you very quickly. A great rainsuit is key to a good trip and the Precip pants (and jacket) did the job!
