Comments about Mountain Hardwear Argon Ice Pant - Men's:

These a good pair of GORE-TEX Pro Shell pants. It is the same material used by most other high end climbing/mountaineering pants. These are a pair of shell pants which means the have zero insulation and are meant as a layer to throw on over other pants, when the weather gets nasty up on the mountains.

The sizing for the pants seems to be fairly good. I am 6'3 and weigh about 285lbs, so I picked up the XXL. Usually I try to squeeze my butt into XL pants, but since I knew these would be going over other pants I opted for the XXL and can say it fits perfect over my normal gear.

The one minor complaint I have with these, is that I read the zipper was full length. Which to me means it goes from the bottom all the way to the top of the waistband. Unfortunately this isn't the case, rather, the zipper goes up, curves over your butt, coming about 2 inches from the waistband before heading back down your other leg. I would prefer to not have to step through anything with crampons on, so that is a bit of a negative. On the plus side, it would be pretty easy to do your number 2 business with the way the zippers work. Either way, it isn't make it or break it for these pants, but just something to note.

All in all, this is a good product and I really am pleased with the craftsmanship and feel of the pants, I look forward to using them for a very long time.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Argon Ice Pant - Men's:

Wore these in N. BC coast range and they kept me dry and comfy. No pockets kinda sucks, but they vent like a dream and weigh next to nothing
