This would be a perfect hat, if it were big enough. It is warm and very packable. It is too small but only at the seem were the fleece ear band is attached. If the seem was elastic it would have worked for me.

I love this hat. I've had many stocking style cold weather hats and this is the best yet. Regular fits perfectly on my medium size head. Full coverage to below the ear lobes and back of the neck, and doesn't slip up to expose the ear lobes and let the wind in from below. The wind resistnece of the double thickness fleece ear band seems better to me than reported in a previous review and the upper wind proof fabric covers the top half of my ears. A very versatile cold weather hat for all but the most extreme conditions where a hood would be much better than a hat. Perfect companion for my Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Parka.

I love the warmth of this dome. It does not fit snug on your head like some others, but it can be pulled down below your ear lobes so that is a big plus cause you will want that in extreme winter conditions. It's long for that reason i believe.

I thought this would be a great hat for very cold conditions. However, the bottom part of the hat (below the part that is filled with primaloft) is just a really lightweight fleece. So, the cold wind just rips right through that part; leaving my ears cold, but the top of my head nice and toasty. A bit frustrating...
