Comments about Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket - Men's:

Fit is a little strange for MH, tight across chest and under arms. My biggest complaint is that the shell material is so thin it ripped the FIRST time I unzipped it. The zipper grabbed the material and split it wide open. It looks like ripstop but it is ridiculously thing.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket - Men's:

In the spring 2008, I summitted Everest from the South Col. I took a men's medium Mountain Hardwear Compressor jacket, which I wore over a base layer and another Primaloft jacket, up to about 22,000 feet in the Western Cwm. The Compressor jacket was light, very compressible for packing, roomy enough for two or three thin layers underneath it, yet it was not too baggy without these layers. It offered some protection from light rain, though I would not want to wear it during a downpour. I wished I had bought this jacket with a hood. Also, I became dangerously hypothermic at about 22,000 feet, 5 degrees F with wind -- my mistake, the jacket is not designed for these conditions. I plan to take this jacket with me when I climb Denali May 2009.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket - Men's:

This is a nice mid-layer insulating layer, or as an outer layer in not-too-cold conditions. The fit is pretty trim so it's not really suitable for use as belay type jacket. I use it mostly under a shell while alpine skiing and will probably carry it hiking and backpacking this summer. It is very light and compressible. The overall feel of the jacket is soft so it feels good to wear. In terms of warmth I think it's warm than a fleece jacket.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket - Men's:

I wear this alone, or under a Gore-Tex shell. It is highly compressible, and not bulky. I have been very happy with all MH products. Have owned this jacket for 2 years.

Graet jacket. It's warm and very light. Packs down and is not bulky or heavy like some other jackets.
