I purchased these tights for mountaineering. I needed something that wouldn't get jammed up in my boot and put pressure on my shins. This item fits the bill. The interior has a micro-fiber type lining which seems like it will be great for wicking. This tight seemed to run large for me. I wear a 32x30 pant and I purchased the medium. My legs are not skinny, but I'm not a hockey player either. All my other long-underwear bottoms are mediums. The length from waistband to where the legs split (the bottom of the crotch) is 13.5". This length is really deep and it forced me to pull them over my belly button to keep them from bunching. Also, there was some extra room in the leg area too. I would return these and get a small, but I have a big climb in three days...so we will make due.
