Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pants - Men's:

With the exception of the rivet type button at the top of the zipper I LOVE these pants. Lite weight, roomy enough to wear my long johns underneath and super comfy waist. I would change the rivet button to a snap or traditional button to avoid the waist belt from my pack digging it into my gut but it still didn't bother me enough to not buy another pair.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pants - Men's:

I really dig these pants. The seamless lined waist is awesome under the pack belt. No more chaffing. Packable and finally a convertible pant with 11in shorts. I'm tired of scaring the wildlife away with my white legs.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pants - Men's:

These truly are my favorite pants. At 6' tall, 31" waist, and 33" inseam, I was a little worried that the length would be a little short in the medium pants. They fit perfectly however.

I really like the fact that when the legs are zipped off the shorts don't look like 1970's NBA shorts. They come almost to my knees.

The pockets are plentiful. I would prefer a deeper front pocket. However, I have never lost anything out of my front pocket even while bouldering.

The elastic cinch cord at the ankles is very nice with it's own little upside down pocket inside the pants leg to stash the excess cord.

Bushwacking through briars, I have yet to tear a hole in the material. They dry quickly and seem to be durable.

Overall, my favorite pants. I own three pair and will buy more since they came out with the new colors for '09.

Service & Delivery comments:

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pants - Men's:

Best pants ever! Just got my second pair, and wouldn't wear anything else if I could. Most comfortable and function pants I have ever owned.

While traveling with the family (mostly women), I only have to pack a backpack. At night, I wash the pants in a sink and hang them. By morning they are clean dry and ready to go again.

On my bike, I either zip off the chain side pant leg or pull tight the rip stop over my calf to prevent damage to pants from chain or sprocket.

I will use them during occasional adventure races. They are very helpful here, because of their ability to repel burrs and dry quickly after running through creeks and rivers.

While rock climbing, I pull the rip stops over my calves to keep from catching on my shoes. They are extremely comfortable under a harness. The belt from the waist band is great for holding extra gear when made into a sling.

The only problem I have had with them is my own fault. The washing instructions say not to use fabric softener. It prevents the pants ability to repel water. Oops! Seems to be come back after using a cool iron.

I am going to buy more, because I want them in every color offered.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pants - Men's:

These are a great fair-hot weather pant. The only con is the technology in the draw string. It often is bundled in the fabric sheath and difficult to access. Besides the annoyability, a great article.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Mesa Convertible Pants - Men's:

These are great pants. I use them for backpacking rock climbing all of the time. The pants are really well designed and have a great fit. They have a nice option to cinch down the bottoms so they don't get in the way when climbing. Don't hesitate to get these pants. They are the best convertible pants I have owned. Very versatile.
