Super warm, great for sitting and belaying in, or walking around town. feels good an durable. just imagine a sleeping bag for your torso! i think this is a waist cut jacket, so take that into consideration when your sizing. overall, a great jacket, worth buying again and again and again!

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Jacket - Men's:

THe Chicago winters get to minus 20 degrees F, so i needed something warm. This jacket cuts it. Layering it with the wind stopper fleece by Mountain Hardware and nothing could stop me. It is very comfortable and the down is good quality. I think it is a great jacket for super cold weather.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Jacket - Men's:

I've had my Sub Zero Jacket for probably 3-4 years now. It has taken a beating, yet is in perfect, like new shape. I rock climb almost every weekend and if it's going to be cold, this is the jacket I bring.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Jacket - Men's:

This is the best down jacket i have ever owned. It was a little stiff at first and required some break in time to loose the boxy look, but now its awesome. Packs down to nothing and acts like a portable furnace. The reinforced shoulders and sides allow worry free pack wearing. Just be careful with the zippers when compressing in order to avoid snags.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Jacket - Men's:

The sub zero jacket comes with its own stuff sack and is very packable. Its extremely warm for almost any cold weather/winter conditions for hiking/outdoor sports.

You may want to go for the sub zero parka for multi-day mountaineering ascents above 13K ft, but this jacket will probably do the trick. I took it to the top of Mt Rainier & felt warm. The sub zero sets the standard for this type of outer wear, although it would be better about two inches longer around the bottom or with a drop back (if any Mtn Hardwear designers are reading).

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Jacket - Men's:

This is a great jacket for really cold weather or even for just being around the campsite at night. I wear this jacket most days when it's really cold in CO. It fits well and guarantees to keep you warm in just about any cold temperature. It you're going to be in extreme weather conditions (heavy snow, rain), get the SL with the waterproof protection. For me, this has been perfect and I hope to get another one when this one bites the dust. This jacket is light so be careful not to snag the jacket or let a coal/ember from a campfire touch it or you'll start loosing down and have to duck tape it.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Jacket - Men's:

This is my fourth MH Sub Zero. Now the whole family has their own. This is the real deal. Warm and well constructed. Shoulders have a thicker fabric for packing. The rest is lightweight but durable and its dense enough to keep the feathers in. Fit is right on and tailored enough so you don't feel like a marshmallow.

The DWR works in light snow and rain. If you're really going to tackle the elements, the sub zero SL is the right choice with a conduit membrane that keeps water out and breathes well.

When stuffed, the jacket is the size of a typical backpacking pillow. Hmm, leave the pillow home and use the jacket for some zzz's? Yep!
