On very cold or windy days, this balaclava and a pair of smith turbofan goggles are perfect for winter hiking without fogging up. For me, this is a little too warm for a wind chill above 10 degF or so. Works great for me with a hat and neck tube over it at -30. If you wear it, sweat in it, and take it off or open the velcro flap, it will freeze pretty quickly and becomes very cold to put back on.

i love it because i can wear a hat underneath it perfectly and still be able to fit my climbing helmet over the top of it all... the coverage is good enough that with the setup i just menitioned and a pair of glacier goggles you rock just about anything out there
