Didn't need to keep water bottle in sleeping bag with me to still have liquid water after 20F nights... The water did cool to 32F as I had some slush, but returning some stove-warmed water to it quickly restored the desired state.

The water bottle parka worked great keeping our water cold at the beginning of the climb & kept it from freezing at the top. The velcro holder kept the water bottles secure on the outside of our packs, keeping them handy & saving space inside the packs.

I use Water Bottle Parka - 1 Liter by Outdoor Research whit Nalgene 1 L bottle and on wintertime to keep drink warm. I only use this on use drink, rest hotdrinks are in thermos bottles.

I bought one of these for each of my sons for their snowshoe/backpacking trip in upstate New York mountains over Christmas break. They were delighted to be able to drink unfrozen water when they reached the top of the mountain.
