The Meteor III is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. It's ultra-lightweight construction and super comfortable fit let you focus on the climbing and forget that you are even wearing a helmet. Excellent ventilation for warm days and is compatible with face shield for ice climbing. If you are more focused on a helmet with great durability than on being lightweight, look at either the Elios or Ecrin Roc. I wear a climbing helmet 200+ days a year, and the Meteor III is my go-to helmet for alpine climbing as well as daily cragging.

Comments about Petzl METEOR III Helmet:

Used mainly for sport climbing, I barely notice the extra weight. It has great ventilation, doesn't interfere with my vision and fits great. Very easy to adjust the size of the both the strap and the helmet.

My only concern is that it is too lightweight--it feels like I could crush it by putting it into my pack wrong... but if that's my only complaint, it's minor! All around a great buy.
