I have used these for more than a few years now. I wrap all my carabiners in two colors. Makes it even harder for anyone to walk off with my gear, with out me seeing it. When you use rack tags they need to wrap around and stick to its self, for best results. At first they wont stick to your gear so much. Use a lighter and heat the tag up a little bit, like heat shrink. This will make them tighter and stay on longer. These will stay on for more than 5 years...must have must have

I started to find after one hour of climbing outside that the electrical tape I tore off my gear as the old marker on my harness was a hundred time more durable then the little blue Trango stickers I had paid for, needless to say if my gear dose not have the blue sticker any longer it is because the stickiness of the tape is not as good as basic electrical tape, and it gets pretty chewed up rubbing on the rock walls. I have found that using finger nail polish or electrical tape is the best way to go on marking your gear. I do not recommend buying this product.

Comments about Trango Rack Tags:

These tags were not what I was hoping for. They did not adhere well to climbing gear, even metal. After allowing my gear to sit for 24 hours with the tags affixed, as the instructions stipulated, many of the tags were peeling off before I even used the gear. After one trip out climbing (2 days), several of the tags were wearing off! Just get a roll of electrical tape instead...

Comments about Trango Rack Tags:

I've been using these on my metal gear for about a year (not on slings and such). The tags stay on my gear, even if they get scraped up a bit. I'm in the desert, so this is mostly climbing in hot and dry weather.

Comments about Trango Rack Tags:

Overall great on cam stems and recessed parts. They don't hold up as well on oft used pieces and exposed areas and they get flakey after a few years of weather. 'Been through 2 sets in 5 years. Keep buying them because they're cheap and easy to apply. They keep your thieving partners from blatantly horking your pieces. " Oh this old cam, i've had this a while now".

disappointed
By Electrician's tape works better! from Ogden, UT on 6/19/2007
Pros:
Stretchy
Cons:
Don't stay on product
Describe Yourself:
Avid Climber
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Trango Rack Tags:

Heard great reviews about this product, but was sadly disappointed. When I first tagged my rack with these stickers I thought they were strong. But since have had problems with them staying on. This is especially true with my ice gear. Its especially weird that a Trango product won't adhere to Trango biners. They adhere more to my BD stuff but come off with any type of moisture.

You are at the end of a long day, and your gear is mixed with your partner's gear; these tags makes short work of the work of sorting.

Comments about Trango Rack Tags:

These labels are very thin but strong and strechable. This comes in handy when applying so that you can strech them around the corners of things. They are made out of some sort of plastic and the color is throughout the material making it so the color is always there even if scratched.
