I was on a group outing to Craters of the Moon National Monument. It was a cah-whumping windy evening, with high sustained winds and bigger gusts. Nobody else could keep any stove running, so I dug into my car and pulled this gizmo out. Voila, it worked great. My stove boiled water faster than ever before, and I became the group water-boiler. It would be hard to lug this into the mountains in winter, unless I had a group to carry the weight--but no one would regret it.

Easy Cooking in the Foul Winter Weather

Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking, when all hell breaks loose (weather)

This Alpine Cook Tent is long over due, great item for the winter camper, who is in the back country. We get alot of driving wind in the mountains, in Cape Breton Highlands. So far the material is tough as my Hardwear tents.
