although this garment pilled quickly and unattractively within the first season, this is my 3rd winter and it is as warm and sturdy as the day i purchased it. as the outer layer, it really holds up well in solid rain, still insulates once soaked. as an inner layer, it's a toaster, and insulates as well as down, but who runs in down? i never overheat in this either. the nailhead fleece has never torn or thinned despite scraping against rocks and trees, and it's resistent to pet hair, unlike typical fleece. it has also maintained the it's taught fit, unlike msot fleece which seems to shrink or expand. if it didn't pill so much, it would be a 5 star piece.
