On the bulkier side, but warm and effective. The main zipper is a bit difficult to start and it's left handed. The hood tightener doesn't keep the wind out completely. The fit is on the snug side. Love the cut, warmth, and fleece lined pockets.

Very warm Jacket. Great for belays. Runs small. I usually take large and I took xxl in the stratus jacket. The reversible zipper is nice, but it is rather hard to get the zippers to align and then in turn zip up. Could have a better zipper system. The zipper slide is on the left hand side rather than on the right. I believe that this reflects European craftsmanship.

As an insulator it does not get warmer than this, the superb fit retains every bit of body heat and the windproof ability really protects also, wore in extreme weather and was not disappointed. So confident at my comfort level I had my outer hard shell unzipped in twenty degree weather. It is waterproof as claimed so it can be worn alone. Cannot think of any cons besides it my need more pockets, but it serves it's main purpose wonderfully.

I wear this jacket by itself and under my hard shell. It has proven itself to be very warm. The zipper is sometimes hard to start and undo. The weather guard could be stiffer and the chin lining could be micro fleece. Overall I am very satisfied and would not change my choice.

I have used this piece for backcountry skiing at -5f and have skied with it at +2 at the resort. I had to do duty as a starter for a ski race when the temp was hovering around 0 all day and I stayed warm every time. Big water bottle pockets inside and small but useful pockets elsewhere. the hood is not big enough for a ski helmet .

This jacket seems to be sized too small - compared to several other similar coats, I had to get this one in the next size up. Especially if wearing a fleece layer underneath. Also the length could be a bit longer (I am 6'5" though). The hood tightens from the back - not obvious at first, and does not completely tighten around the neck area. The zipper is a bit awkward to start, especially with gloves on. However, this is a very warm coat overall. Took it hiking in 5 degree weather and had to partially unzip it a few times. Very comfortable and lightweight.
