Smartwool is superior to all socks

Have tried all major outdoor sock manufacturer's products, and none come anywhere near the quality of Smartwool. They're virtually indesctructible.

Great sock, but lacked warmth at times

I wear silk liner socks and was surprised that my feet were not toasty warm all the time. I found that at times, my feet were not cold, but not warm in ice and snow conditions on Orizaba. I will continue to use these socks since I do like their wear and comfort. However, I will take thick wool ones, just in case.

Costly but worth it

Best Uses:

Hiking, Keeping your Toes Toasty inside, Mountaineering, Taking the dog out in Morning Blizzards

I have been wearing the socks for outdoor hiking in the Rockies and footwarming in a suburban living room for years. They breathe during high exertion and keep feet warrm under all conditions. Not too tight so they work really well with liners in extreme weather. [...]
