Comments about Marmot La Meije:

The pack is very nice for full days in the backcountry or when ski mountaineering. I have used it on several ski mountaineering trips and the quick access ice axe holder has come in handy so you do not have to take your pack off to get it out. The diagonal carry system does a great job of holding skis and the shovel/ tool packet is nice. My only complaint is that on days that you do not need all of the volume it is difficult to compress it down very well.(think quick tours or Bigsky/Jackson Hole) Everything ends up in the bottom of the pack giving it a wedge shape.

Comments about Marmot La Meije:

This is a great pack for day trips into the backcountry for some turns. It's hard to tell you are wearing a pack on the descent (well designed support). More than ample storage space both inside and out. The front panel keeps your shovel and probe handy. Seperate exterior pocket for storing skins is a nice feature. Ski carrying system locks them in tight for booting. This pack would also serve you well on more serious alpine objectives. All in all I'd say it's pretty bomber.

Not just the perfect winter pack
By Power Powder PeterVerified Buyer from Banff, Alberta, Canada on 7/20/2006
Pros:
Flexible, Lightweight, Rugged, Stable
Best Uses:
Back Country, Cross Country, Deep Powder

Comments about Marmot La Meije:

After back country skiing with a borrowed La Meije last season, I knew I had to have my own. Not only did it fit all of my avi gear, but my SLR and pro zoom lens fit nice and snug in the pack while being accessible quickly when required. They took their time to get the design just right, and it shows. The La Meije is hard to track down, so grab one if you can.

Pros:
Comfortable, Compact, Lightweight, Tough
Best Uses:
backcountry skiing

Comments about Marmot La Meije:

I ski 40+ days with a pack. This is the best pack I have ever owned. Designed from the start to be a skier's pack. Very comfortable. Extremely easy to get stuff in and out of the pack. Can get skis on and off within seconds. Even a special place for powerbars.

best designed pack yet
By high on mountainsVerified Buyer from Great Falls, MT on 3/14/2006
Pros:
Compact, Great fit, Lightweight, Tough
Best Uses:
ski mountaineering

Comments about Marmot La Meije:

The best pack that I have ever skied with. Fits so well that I don't even notice it. Handles the load perfectly when hiking and is just big enough for everything that you need, but not big enough so that you don't bring the crap you don't. Great for tram riding and skiing the back country in Jackson too.

Best pack ever
By Birdman from Logan, UT on 2/9/2006
Pros:
Compact, Lightweight, Tough, Works flawlessly

Comments about Marmot La Meije:

Works well as a day use pack. It sinches down small enough to be out of the way. Still big enough two or more days in the back country.
