Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Great for wilderness rescue. Is a little on the heavy side for those who are ounce conscious - but I wouldn't expect them to be carrying a chair into the backcountry anyway. Also doubles as a backup sleeping pad if your inflatable leaks. Not the most comfortable, but functional.
