I recently bought a casual, every day wear coat that was 100% polyester (dry clean only). It was a faux suade material, so it was a very porous fabric. It was also white.
I wanted to find a way to protect this coat from weather and dirt, so as to allow for easier spot cleaning in the future, and so I began a search.
How do I treat a polyester coat?
I also had to consider finding something that would not stain the fabric as well as find something that would coat without dulling down the natural soft texture of the fabric.
Grangers Super Proof Waterproofing For Fabrics did all that, and then some. I couldn't be happier with the results.
It did not discolor, dull, or damage the white fabric in any way. Additionally, it has gone beyond what I wanted, in that I was orginally only searching for a water resistant and stain resistant product. I now have a product that is waterproof (within reason). This product will prolong the life of my coat.
Additionally, the spray dried without any odar...an amazing bonus.
I couldn't be happier with this product and recommend it to anyone for a similiar situation.
