I've always been a two-pairs person - one for sport one for trad. I actually think these shoes are comfortable enough, and performance tuned for both types of climbing.

Tends to rub on the heel which I hadn't noticed with other shoes, but otherwise no complaints. Grips well and I've had no problems with wear.

These are a "second" pair of climbing shoes I bought intending to use only when bouldering. I have been trying to break them in on my garage bouldering wall. They are very resistant to change and are not coming around quickly.

these shoes were purchased for my wife who wears a 42 street. I bought a 41.5 and she complains of excruciating pain in her toes. I on the other hand wear a 45 street and was able to squeeze these on. They'd work for a very short challanging boulder problem for me. Maybe these are just ment for men, and not women? My only discomfort, 3.5 sizes smaller, is over all compression, which is fine for a couple minutes. I would recomend these and others for men... not so much women unless you've already tried them on

Good sizing and ease of use make this shoe a winner. The Gryptonite holds great as well. I can get some wicked smearing heel hooks in these. Great deal!

I just bought the shoes and have already gone out six times with them. It is still winter where im from and these shoes are performing greatly. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and was looking for a decent shoe. The shoes have exceeded my expectation and are definetly worth the price. Since it is still winter here there is snow all over the ground and the shoes are bound to get wet. They seem to handle the moisture really well. I haven't had any trouble with slipping due to the shoes. The best thing about the shoe is that it has a nice solid toe. I have read many other reviews that say the toe isn't very good but so far I have to disagree. As long as it doesn't start to fall apart I think this shoe is great.

If your looking for super grip, go somewhere else. The Gryptinite does not match up to Steath or La Sportiva rubber. This shoes is very lightwieght, agressive, and forms to the foot well. Again if the rubber was better this would be the perfect bouldering shoe.

Great shoe for the price. I have used it 6 or 7 times so far and no problems yet. The shoe is comfortable and also smears and edges well. It remains to be seen how durable this shoe will be. The toe box seems wide but it fits well into cracks and because of the flexibility it allows you to flex the foot to get hold with both top and bottom rubber. My one problem with this shoe is that because of the smooth heal rubber it doesn't seem to hold a heal hook as well as other shoes. Overall, a really good shoe for the price conscious climber.

I love my montrails. I have narrow feet with a high arch and other climbing shoes I've tried on have overcompensated for wide, flat feet. I also like that these shoes are vegan--they don't get as smelly after several sends as leather shoes seem to. Some other comments have complained of achilles rub or blisters that are so painful the shoes have to come off, but I found that the rub was mild and only really felt when I was jumping off high bouldering finishes.
All in all, exactly what I was looking for.

Held up really well for me, probably not a good beginner shoe, I don't think it would hold up to poor technique.
As my headline suggests, I got a nice snug fit, plenty of power out of my toes, and I can wear them a decent amount of time for a somewhat slipper like shoe. Great grip, great surprise for Montrail shoes. Toe hooks pretty well for not having an agressively down turned toe.
I would buy them again, and I will have them resoled (half sole, if I get it done soon enough)

This is my first climbing shoe and it's great. I am able to edge a lot better with these than the rental shoes. Gryptonite sole is awsome. The only bad thing is there is a seam on my right shoe that causes hot spots. Easily fixed with moleskin though.

The Zealot passed my bouldering tests for tight fit, feel on use of the toes and staying on for regular heel hooks.
The toe box rubber sheds; even though it does not initally effect performance eventually the toe box and rand will need replacement. Avg. time on that one: only 6 months. Price is right but resole is more expensive.
I still love the fit, feeling on the toes, heel hooks tight.

I have enjoyed these shoes much more then others I have purchased in the past. They seem to be true to shoe size, they also so have splendid grip. this is my first shoe with velcro, and I enjoy how the shoe holds my foot, now that I have said that, I must say the opening at the top of the shoe seems tight and is a little difficult to slip my foot in, or to pull heal out when belaying. I have done 4 climbs on it already, and the shoe seems to be holding up fine. I had major concerns with wear on the shoe after reading the reviews but I see no excessive wear as of yet.

The toe starts to peel a little after not much use, but I knew that ahead of time. But the shoes are so affordable - you could buy 3 pairs for the same price as one great pair of something else. The toe thing really isn't that big of a deal. Not a perfect fit for high-arched feet, and really tight for square toes at first.

Extremely comfortable
I really liked this shoe while I had it but the the toe blew out in only a few weeks. The wear on the rubber was very apparent even after the first couple days. Good shoe while it lasts... but it doesn't last.

I used my pair twice outside and once in the gym. Then the rubber on the forefoot began to peel off rendering them unusable.
