Gloves stop wind/drizzle very well. However, I always wear large gloves and these large are a bit small on my hands.

Charlotte in the winter has variable weather. It can go from frigid to warm daily. I have just bought my second pair. The gloves are soft and comfortable with a nice combination of wind block and intrinsic warmth. So your fingers don't go numb when you start out on a cold morning. Breathable enough so when you work up a sweat your hands don't get soggy. I appreciate the ability to use them both when running or when I am on my bike. They are perfect for back packing
