This is an excellent shoe. I'm going on my third pair. I do a lot of technical alpine rock routes in these shoes and they never let me down. It gives me everything I want out of an approach shoe (even with a 70 lb pack on my back). It also does really well on routes up to 5.9 (in most cases). It truly is an approach shoe that can climb really well. Like many, my only gripe is that the sole delaminates way too quickly. I'm not sure why, but it does. But rather than look for something else, I just grab a tube of Shoe Goo and I'm good to go.
Good All-Around good shoe

I have been training parkour for about a year now and I decided to purchase some five-ten freerunners. Somehow, along the way Five-Ten stopped making freerunners in a size 14, so I went to my local sports/recreation store and ordered these thru them. I got them and started running around and training. The grip almost never fails. Every time I cat-leap, my shoes grip like the wall is covered in partially dried glue. I love these shoes and will reccomend them to anybody.

Good approach shoes, comfortable, but needs an insole for more cushion. Good edging and smear action. Works well for buildering. Durability remains to be seen.

High Performance, Low Comfort

Pros:
Non-slip sole, Stable, Stiff
Cons:
Stiff, Very little arch support, Very little cushioning
Best Uses:
Backcountry, Climbing, Scrambling
I've had a number of pairs of the 5.10 Access, loved them, and decided to try the Guide Tennie. Certainly to stiff and to little cushioning for everyday use, but very good for it's intended purpose. If you want an everyday shoe though, check out the Access.
