I've owned these for almost two years and wear them almost every weekend...year round. They are really good all around shoes that go from trail to town easily and gracefully. This is the second pair of (non-climbing specific) 5.10 shoes I've purchased. The quality of 5.10 shoes is frankly, uncanny. The first pair (probably 6 years old) are now dedicated to gym use, but they still look almost new as well. I'd definitely recommend 5.10 to anyone.

I changed out the insole to a Sole custom insole, and the shoe transformed into one of my most comfortable! All day long no matter where I am. Traction that can't be beat, well maybe by one of the all out climbing shoes. The only bad thing is they are a little on the warm side for summer time use.

Works Real Good
By Idiot ChildVerified Purchaser from St. Croix, Virgin Islands on 3/24/2006
Pros:
Comfortable, Good arch support, Good cushioning, Non-slip sole, Stable
Best Uses:
Good on Ball Bearings

I fast hike a dirt road that leads up the Mountain every morning. It is steep with ball bearing stones and the descent can be dangerous. These shoes make me sure footed like a donkey. It's a good foot grip or a bad hospital trip. 05-10-Amen.

Great shoe for rock scrambling
By Branch_WhitneyVerified Purchaser from Las Vegas, NV on 2/20/2006
Pros:
Comfortable, Good arch support, Good cushioning, Non-slip sole, Stable
Best Uses:
Day hikes, rock scrambling on steep rock

So far I'm pleased with the shoe. Sticks to the rock, well made, and very comfortable. Only warning is they run small. I normally wear a size 11. I am wearing a size 12.5 Mountain Master!
