Great multi-purpose shoe. Enough rubber to get you up those easy scrambles and even routes! Great traction and nice, plush padding on the interior.

Was looking for a very light hiking shoe that would really grip for long distance ups and downs on rocky trails. Saw this [...] and they are perfect. Very light weight, comfortable with no breakin, and they really grip rocks so you don't slip around. I normally like a little higher ankle support but that's a weight trade-off. These make you feel very confident on steep ups and downs. I was going to buy a second pair but they ran out of my size.

Still in reasonable shape after two years of everyday abuse. Every weekend consisted of trying to destroy these shoes. Have climbed alpine ice with strap-on crampons up to 60 degrees for 800ft, very long alpine rock up to 5.6. Extremely long and technical ascents and descents in CO Rockies with absolute comfort from the first day to today. Feel great day after day in aiders as well. Feel great under an 80lb pig for 5 miles. Excellent shoe; very dissapointed they're dicontinued. Do try to get a pair while you can.

This is my second pair. I really like these shoes despite 2 small issues. The sole is so thin that it wears out too quickly, and secondly it is a little low volume in the toebox for my feet. Neither of these problems are severe enough to outweigh the fact that these shoes perform where it matters. Recommended for climbers looking for something for that 4th class approach.

These shoes are comfortable, sturdy and minimalistic in terms of their appearance. I will definitely buy them again or someting similar if and when i need new shoes. These seem to be best suited to those who have normal to narrow feet. Wide footed individuals might not be so happy with them.

The approach shoes that I've loved for years have been discontinued by the manufacturer. When I saw the D7's on sale, I decided to pick up a pair. I took them on their first hike yesterday, and they performed fabulously. Comfortable all day, and goat-like traction on the class 2-3 scrambling my outing involved. Pick up a pair of these before they're gone!! And pick up a pair of Superfeet orange footbeds for even better support.

These shoes are very light and yet tough and offer a great fit. The vibram soles grip extremely well on numerous surfaces. Last but not least, they look cooler than most shoes that are made just for looking cool.

for all the shoes I have purchased, the D7 is the first that has compelled me to write a review. This is a really excellent approach/light hiker. The fit is great, like that of a trail runner, but the sole is stiffer, more like a boot. great traction and edging, can't wait to take these on pilgrimage to jtree this spring.
Definately worth wating for!

I first ordered a 7.5, but this size wasn't available any longer. Size 8 was and I decided to order a pair. Just before I left for Tibet, I received them and I am wearing them ever since.
Best approach shoe my feet ever touched, very comfortable for every day walks too.
For longer hikes I suggest a shoe with a higher heel support though.
Very much worth waiting for!
