Great shoe
By Huayna PotosiVerified Reviewer from Las Vegas, NV on 10/16/2008
Pros:
Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot
Cons:
Hot
Best Uses:
Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain
Describe Yourself:
Regular hiker scrambler
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent Scarpa craftsmanship! Although the shoe favors an average to wide foot the lacing allows customizable fit. I have narrow feet and by adding a superfeet footbed it fits great. Runs long, buy one to one and half sizes smaller than you would usually get in a hiking boot.
Very comfortable shoe with a stiff sole allows for great support on rocky terrain. Able scrambler but I have not tested them in true 5th class climbing. I like that it's a great hiker not just a comfortable rock shoe.

Scarpa's fit my very weird feet well. I have not ever had a bad pair of Scarpa's and I dig this pair of Zens.

I usually wear size 11 1/2 in athletic shoes (Nike) but I ordered them a half size smaller thinking the sizing would run a little smaller. I guessed right they fit perfectly. They feel very durable and I'll get lots of use with them. Great right out of the box, but I replaced the insoles to make them a little more cushioned and will wear them on extended day trips also.

These things took me from Lupine Meadows, to the summit of the Grand Teton, and back. No blisters or excessive foot pain. Climbs like a rock shoe.
