I wear a 10.5 shoe and ordered the 11 and they were still too small. Kind of annoyed that i didnt get the 11.5 because they felt comfortable aside from my toe jammed into the front. I returned them [...]. A shoe company that misses its target by two half-sizes starts to make me suspicious...

This is an excellent shoe and got a great deal online! Just make sure you are aware that it fits tight in the toe area and you should allow a half size bigger to give you a true fit.

I have been searching for what I would descibe as a "high-top trail runner" for a long time. It is so difficult to find a trail running shoe that provides ankle support. This is what I would catagorize this shoe as...feels like a trail runner, but has surprisingly good ankle support. Montrail appears to be the only company making a product such as this. It is a great shoe, and if you're looking for a super light (yet still supportive) trail runner, this is for you. I do a lot of treking in Phoenix, so I wanted something breathable. This definitely is...very light weight and cool. Not recommended for cold weather or wet conditions. Sizing is small (I'm a 10.5-11.0 typically, but because of other reviews bought 11.5 and they're great), and "integrefit" sole felt a little awkward at first, but I've come to appreciate the additional support (to the point that I now notice how little support my every day shoes actually have). Would have given five stars, but the little rubber pieces on the upper two lace eyelets tend to come off. It looks like this line is being discontinued, so I'm buying a second pair while I can still get them.

I used this shoe for the treking portion of an adventure race. It afforded great support for my weak ankles especially on the rocky downhill sections of the course. I found the sole to be stiff for prolonged running bouts. It did not release water well. I pored water from the shoe after removing it. It would will be a great hiker if you kept it out of the streams and ponds.

I am a Scoutmaster in Troop 507 in Southern CA. I needed a boot that could handle the "Hiking Merit Badge" that I am having the boys earn. We have to do 5, 10-mile day hikes, and a 20-mile day hike. I bought these boots the week before I scouted the 20-miler with my two sons. We covereed 20 miles in 10 hours over 2 mountain passes along the west fork of the San Gabriel River. I could not be more pleased! The support and cushioning in these are perfect. I drug one foot through a stream during a crossing, and my foot got wet immediately. They offer no protection from water. But they are perfect warm weather hikers and they dry very rapidly. Perfect for everyday wear and for the trail! I wear size 12. My buddy told me to order 13. That advice is right on.

Ordered 1/2 size larger than my reg size--great fit. I bought for paragliding. Great light weight hiker with good ankle support and without gromets which can catch paraglider lines. Not waterproof, wouldn't recommend for cold weather/snow hiking.

The right side shoe was a whole size too small, and the left was a half size too small. I normally wear a size 11 and thats what I have bought in every other hiking boot I have owned (Merrell, Vasque, Salomon, Nike) but with these, the right side was way too small, and the left was just too small. Otherwise, they seemed like a decent shoe. Too bad I couldn't order one 12 and one 11 1/2.

I was looking for lightweight hiker for daily use and workout. Researched many and decided to give Namche a try. ALL review said that boot is sized at least a full size small, so I ordered a 14, not 13. This turned out to be 100% true. Order one size up if wearing lightweight hiking socks or athletic socks. They felt strange at first. Give it a couple of days. Also put Superfeet insert in and now they are most comfortable boot I own. Many review online also. Would have given 5 stars, but cant comment on durability yet.

Get a half seize larger than you would anticipate. The tow box is small and thus makes the shoe fit too snuggly.

I'd read the reviews and had high hopes for these boots. I wear US 10.5 or 11 (Euro 44-45); so ordered two pair -- one US 10.5, one 11 -- to assure a good fit. The 11 (Euro 45) was way too small. Short; narrow; small toe box. I also felt that the construction, while seemingly good and well-detailed, would not stand up to rough use; e.g., rock scrambling. I returned both pair and will stick with my 5-10 Insights for now.

I used the Montrail Namche with Superfeet inserts on a 400 mile Oregon section hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2007. This shoe is exactly what I have been looking for: a combination trail runner/lightweight boot. It has the feel and performance of the Montrail Hardrock plus the additional ankle support. I had no shoe problems with snowfields, muddy bogs, volcanic rubble, stream crossings, or on those fast-track Oregon forest trails. The sizing is a bit small. I usually buy a size 11, but in the Namche I wear an 11.5. I estimate that I can get at least another couple of hundred miles of hard hiking out of them. The first thing I did when I got home was purchase another pair. I hope Montrail keeps making them!
