With the tension of a coiled snake ready to spring, the La Sportiva Viper is fitted out with a tensioned slingshot rand that keeps power at the slightly down-turned toe. Slip it on, fasten the double elastic closure, and start bouldering - if you should take a fall, the Hidden Heel Shock Absorber System will protect your foot during an impact landing.
  • Grip the rock face with the sticky 3.5 mm XS Grip sole while your arches are supported by the light, thin, yet torsionally rigid fiber-laminate Laspoflex midsole
  • Fitting as closely as a second skin, the uniquely tensioned slingshot rand and double elastic closure provide the perfect fit and maximum amount of power at the toe
  • Don't worry about bouldering falls - the Hidden Heel Shock Absorber system protects you on impact landings
  • Probe edges and climb cracks a little more comfortably with the slightly down-turned toe and padded toe box that's a easy on your digits
  • Upper: leather / synthetic leather / elastic
    • Lined: synthetic (forefoot only)
      • Midsole: 1.1 mm synthetic fiber laminate
        • Outsole: 3.5 mm Vibram

I tried these out at a demo before I bought them. they are sized 2 full euro sizes smaller than normal shoe. you may wish to only go 1.5, as I like mine tight. Although, the combination of the shoe's materials allow for a little break-in room. I didn't like the competition's moc as the elastic was small, and I heard comp's shoe stretched too much. Size it tight for circuits or longer sport routes, but if you're wearing it for a while, multi-pitch, I'd size it between 1-1.5 smaller than normal. The elastic is tight as it runs most of the top of shoe. Shock absorber dealy helps a bit when slamming into rock, but may be weird for a resole. Absolute best all-around so far. Headed to the resoler as I can't give them up. highly recommended!

There are very good things about this shoes, i use mine mainly for projects, and in steep problems, the only minor problem i can see, is when is too hot, they become a little stiff!!!
