Great performance, mediocre durability
By deathrattleVerified Reviewer from Boulder, CO on 7/30/2006
Best Uses:
Easy Class 5 Rock, Scrambling, Trail running

I speed-solo various Flatirons in these shoes several times per week. Most Flatiron climbing is low angle 5.0-5.6, and these shoes are excellent on that type of terrain. The shoes are light enough for running fast on trails but adequately supportive as well. The FriXion rubber is very sticky, but the tread on the soles seems to wear out very quickly (I imagine there is a necessary tradeoff between stickiness and durability, though). If you're looking to go light and fast on semi-technical terrain or on a combo of easy rock and trails, then these shoes are ideal. If you want something beefy and durable, look elsewhere.
