For trail running in the cold and wet, the Salomon GCS XCR shoes have a Gore-Tex XCR lining for a dry interior and a unique Ground Control System that keeps feet stable and safe by adapting to rough, uneven ground.
- The sandwich mesh and synthetic upper is lined with Gore-Tex XCR to keep moisture out
- A Running Contragrip sole provides tremendous traction on slick or loose ground
- The Ground Control System is a combination of springs and plates in the heel that manages horizontal forces, reduces pronation, absorbs shock and guides the foot to a neutral position for increased traction and agility as well as improved stability

This light hiking shoe completes the ultra light package! I like to hike fast and light, but wanted a shoe thats waterproof. I have tried a number of trail runners for ultralight hiking and none of them compare to this shoe in comfort.

Best Uses:
Day hikes, Everyday, Great spring season mountain bike kicks, Wet weather
So far so good; spring trails on Olympic Peninsula-Slayed. Sloppy mountain bike singletrack-eaten up, then asked for seconds. You can trail run in the soggy morning hours, blast off the shoes with water (gore-tex here folks), then walk around downtown all day if need be. Great shoes, fun looks, good times.
