im a female and found these on sale. i wear a 8 1/2 - 9 in womens, a 41 in this shoe fit me perfectly.
i really like the traction and heel support. the laces are pretty short, but i like that. they look good too and were quick to form around my foot.
they seem pretty breathable and well constructed.
I second that recommendation to buy a size bigger. My toes are definitely scruntched. But, aside from that, they are a great trail runner/day hiker. I love using mine for trail runs, beating up around camp, and even occassionally as a walking shoe.
I bought a pair of La Sportiva Monarch Crest shoes a while ago. I liked them alot, particularly the stability of the shoe and the "FRIXION" sole. The Monarch's I have are size 42.5, and fit a little tight, so I opted for 43s in the Colorado's. The Colorado's are pretty similar to the Monarch. Even though the Colorado is 1/2 size bigger it seems that it is narrower than the Monarch (or maybe I have stretched the Monarch???).Besides being a little narrow for me (my foot is normal to wide) the laces are TOO SHORT. This is annoying. I am on a hunt to find some laces that fit these shoes and allow you to actually make a normal knot. [...] The laces on the Monarch was perfect length.Even though there are some cons about these shoes, I can live with them being a little narrow for me as they seem to provide great support for me and the frixion sole is very durable. Be warned the sole is made of a very hard substance. If you are looking for a soft sole these are not the shoes for you.
Suggestion: If you order a pair of these, order one size larger.
These shoes were pretty darn comfortable right out of the box. I took them for a spin on a local trail and they performed great. I also use them as an approach shoe and they stick pretty well. I would recommend them to anyone who spends a good deal of time in the outdoors.
